Centrelines
The characteristics of centreline equipment include:
- It represents a standard template or baseline, and is the default maintenance plan for a particular model of equipment.
- Centrelines can be created as new, or developed from existing equipment or centrelines.
- There can be many centrelines for a particular model. For example, there could be a centreline for different applications.
- Costing is at the component or task level, which may be linked to standard jobs.
- Different cost categories can be used, for example parts, labour, misc.
- Different maintenance activities performed on the same component can be budgeted in the centreline for example, remove & install, rebuild, replace with new.
- Component life can be based on specific units of measure for example, engine hrs, fuel burn, tramming.
- Centrelines can contain all work that would be done on a machine, not just the work that is the Dealer's responsibility, for example, Ground Engaging Tools (GET), undercarriage, tyres.
