STO Manager

The STO Manager provides a flexible definition for Shutdowns, Turnarounds or Outages across multiple assets, with the ability to include planned and unplanned maintenance activities. The STO can vary in duration from very short to weeks or months. STOs are generally planned many months in advance and may often be planned years in advance.

Anay changes to STO Manager are audited and logged.

Create an STO

Click above the grid to add a new STO. STOs are added with an In Planning status. When you enter an Actual Start Date, the status changes to In Progress. This means that the Planned Start Date cannot be modified. When you enter an Actual Finish Date, the STO will have a Completed status.

An STO may need to move depending on operational or production constraints; therefore, users are able to configure its ability to move. How much it can be moved may be of relevance.

The STO is constrained to a branch; there is no site constraint. This allows the STO capability to plan a shutdown that impacts equipment belonging to several fleets or sites within a single branch.

Can Move check box

The following rules apply, depending on whether or not you have selected the STO and Can Move check boxes.

  1. STO Required is selected (that is, Y), Can Move is not selected (that is, N)

This means that the occurrence needs to be completed in an STO and the dates of the occurrence cannot move (unless there is manual intervention).

  2. STO Required is selected (that is, Y), Can Move is selected (that is, Y) and Tolerance = 0 days

This means there is no limit to the number of days that an occurrence can move, but the date movement is constrained by the STO dates (for example, must be within the STO dates).

  3. STO Required is selected (that is, Y), Can Move is selected (that is, Y) and Tolerance => 0 days (1, 2 ...)

This means that the occurrence move is limited by the number of days in the tolerance and constrained by the linked STO dates (for example, must be within the STO dates).

Edit an STO

The differences between the Create STO and Edit STO screens are the additional fields:

  • Status - Allows various statuses of an STO to be recorded.

  • Archived - Allows the STO to be archived; by default, this will remove the STO from the returned search (Archived default = No).
