User Accounts

System Administration > User Profiles > User Accounts

Whenever a new user is added or an existing user's permission needs to be modified, the system administrator maintains groups, user names, passwords and group permissions.

This feature links a user with a Security Group. A user must belong to a specified security group. The permissions for each group are set in group permissions. To open this dialog box, double-click User Accounts. A user account requires the following settings:

  • Login ID (user name).
  • Full name.

Other settings include:

  • Further user details.
  • Restriction for which branches or sites the user can access in Equipment Statistics, and in the Equipment List. This does not restrict the branches or sites available to the user when running reports or functions in the main AMT client application.
  • Work Order and Quote Authorisations.
  • Budget and Budget Status Restrictions.

For Windows authentication in the User Account screen, enter the user name in the Login name field in the format domain\username, for example RPM\John.Doe. For the Web Application, it is necessary in IIS to switch off anonymous authentication for all AMT applications and switch on integrated Windows authentication.

In the User Accounts screen, click to Add a new user, and to Edit an existing user.

Budget cost centre restrictions and Budget status permissions

These features let you set whether a user's ability to edit or influence a budget should include cost centres.

When a budget is created by a user and includes equipment with task costs for a cost centre for which the user does not have responsibility (that is, no access), the user will be provided with the following message: Equipment selected include cost centre costs for cost centres you can't access. These costs are excluded. Please refer to your management for budgetary access requirements.

A user may have one or more budget statuses depending on their organisational role. When a user account is created, the default status is No Access. If Access is granted, then the user account would then select one or more codes for the Edit Status from the Budget Status system table.
