PVC Changes (Projected Cost Variance)

The PVC Changes Insight looks at the last five days and detects changes to the existing project value at the task level, allowing you to correct early and adjust existing tasks or recode work orders as needed.

(PCV) Changes highlights strategy tasks whose projected cost variance has changed between projection runs. It is designed to draw attention not only to large cost overruns, but specifically to where the projected variance is moving—either improving or deteriorating over time—so users can understand whether cost performance is stabilising or worsening.

This Insight compares the current projected total cost of a strategy task (based on historical and future expected occurrences) against its budgeted cost, and tracks how that variance has shifted the previous snapshot (taken every five days). By doing so, it helps users focus on meaningful changes in cost outlook, rather than static variances that my already be understood.
