Work Order Cost Variance (High-Cost Strategy Work Orders)
The Work Order Cost Variance Insight analyses work order data for a subset of equipment to prepare an insight covering:
-
Potential Cost Impact
-
Potential Asset issues
-
Potential Work Order issues
-
Potential Planned Cost issues
To be considered by AMT Insights, assets need to be enabled.
Variances are defined based on settlements actual costs versus their planned costs found on strategy tasks - both for the default cost bearer. For assets (and their data) to be available in the Quick Watch, and under Insights, flag the assets as Quick Watch assets.
The Insight identifies completed work orders that are linked to a defined maintenance strategy tasks, but whose actual cost differs significantly from the projected (planned) cost of that strategy. Because these work orders are associated with a known strategy, the system can directly compare what was expected to happen versus what actually occurred for each individual execution.
This Insight focuses on the top 'n' work orders with the largest absolute cost variances, helping you pinpoint specific maintenance events where execution, scope or cost control deviated materially from the plan. Unlike non-strategy work orders, these variances are directly attributable to how a strategy task was performed, making them especially valuable for validating strategy assumptions and standard costing.
