Material types are defined by rules that return true when the condition is met. The material types are used throughout XECUTE and are evaluated at block level. Materials define block model aggregation classes in reporting and scheduling, and are used to route mined quantities to destinations.
Material rules are evaluated in order from the first in the list to the last in the list. Rules are typically designed to be exclusive however non-exclusive rules are possible. For example:
Rule1: Fe > 70
Rule2: Fe > 50
Rule1 will be assigned all material > 70% Fe
Rule2 will be assigned all material > 50% and < 70% Fe because Rule1 appears first in the list and takes priority in material assignment.
Once materials are defined they can be enabled for a Pit. Pit-enabled materials are evaluated for all activity areas in a pit and any blocks that do not match the enabled material rules will be assigned the pit default material.
