Allocation type
You first need to assign allocation settings to rows in the spreadsheet template.
For allocation to occur, a non-aggregate spreadsheet must have at least one row assigned as an allocation row (for example, operating hours in an equipment template). This is the row from which values are used to calculate the allocation factors for all data rows below this row, down to the end of the spreadsheet or until a second allocation row is assigned.
For all other data rows within the template, select an Allocation Type from the list. The allocation types are described below. Follow the links for more information.
| Allocation Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Undefined | There is no allocation required for this row. For rows set to Undefined is assigned, the normal Row Default, Row Functions and Local Formula will still apply in activity spreadsheets. |
| Allocation | Used to calculate an allocation factor so that data from a source spreadsheet can be allocated to an activity spreadsheet. |
| Operating | The values in the row will be allocated using an allocation factor calculated on a single, current period basis. |
| Capital | The values in the row will be allocated using a allocation factor calculated using the average of allocation values over a range of periods. |
| Duplicate | The values in the row will be duplicated in the linked activity spreadsheet. |
