Database management
Overview
The objective of the database management feature is to ensure customer databases do not continue to grow unabated leading to large storage requirements, difficulty in supporting customers and potential performance reductions.
The feature allows system administrators to configure rules that enable deletion of obsolete branch versions within each model. The variables that can be set within a deletion rule are:
-
Branch State - select from a list of the available branch states.
-
Branch Active Flag - select active or inactive.
-
Age - select the age (in days) after which the branch will be deleted.
Example rule:
Delete a model branch that is set to <Branch State> and <Branch Active Flag>, and older than <Age> days.
Delete a model branch that is set to Abandoned and Inactive, and older than 180 days.
System administrators can set a scheduled time and frequency for running the deletion routines.
