The following points explain the steps involved in carrying out a simple Input Path schedule.

Calendar database

Create a new calendar database. Set up data fields to store the start date and a schedule target.
Use the Calendar Wizard to automatically create the calendar database structure and to assign the start dates. Manually enter a schedule target for each time period.

Schedule setup

Create a new scenario. Attach the calendar database created above to the scenario. Assign the calendar date field and schedule start period in the calendar options.
By default, your database will have one activity. Give this activity a name and set the zero test data field to "Include All Records". Set this activity as Active for the scenario.
Ignore most of the items in the schedule setup tree under your scenario.
Create a new resource. For this resource set the mining sequence to Input Path and the resource capacity to Target. Set the activity to be Active for this resource.
The Accumulation Field should point to a Main database field that contains the quantity that you will schedule for the Activity. For example, if the activity represents Ore Mining, then the Accumulation field would be the Ore Tonnage. If the activity represents Drilling, then the Accumulation field could be the Total Drill Metres.
Under Production Details, set the Production Target to be the schedule target field in the calendar database.
The Destination Type for your activity should be set to Product.
Leave the roster set to the default Full Time roster. Do not assign any roster exceptions or triggers to the resource.
Create an input path for your resource.

Scheduling

Run the schedule.

Schedule results

Create a schedule report writer containing all of your Main database data fields with no filters. Set the output type to Window so the results are displayed in a window from where they can be printed.
Create a Gantt Chart for your schedule. Set up a task for each of the levels in your database. Only include the one resource and the one activity that you have used in this schedule in the Gantt Chart.
