Exporting spatial data as a DXF file

You can export spatial data in XPAC as a DXF file that you can use in other programs, such as AutoCAD.

1.Select File > Export > Spatial Data. The Select Spatial Data Set window displays.
2.Select an existing data set from the drop-down list.
3.Click OK. The Export Spatial Data window displays.
4.Select AutoCAD (.dxf).
5.Click Next. The Data Settings page displays.

XPAC displays the most recently used export settings.

6.Complete the settings for the data settings:
a.Select the Range to determine which records to export.
b.Select the Scanning Level to specify the database level.
c.Select the check box of each activity that you want to include.
d.Click Next. The Export Logic page displays.
7.Complete the settings for the export logic:
a.Specify the folder that you want to save the file to:
i.Click Browse. The Browse For Folder window displays.
ii.Navigate to and select the folder that you want to use.
iii.Click OK.

Note

If required, you can also create a new folder by clicking Make New Folder.

b.Specify an expression using XCM functions in the Filename Expression field (see the XCM programming guide for more information).
c.Specify an expression using XCM functions in the Layer Name Expression field (see the XCM programming guide for more information).
d.Click Next. XPAC verifies the validity of the data and displays the Export Preview page.
8.Review the data that displays.

Note

If any errors occur during the verification process, you can use the Go to the next error and Go to the previous error buttons to navigate through each error. If required, you can fix these errors before exporting the data.

9.Click Run.

XPAC exports the spatial data as specified.

Information

If any errors occur during the export process, the Event Log will display the details of the failure.
