A data field set to have a field type of No Aggregate will only ever have data displayed at the lowest level of the database. All upper level records will display a blank for this type of data field.

An example where this field type may be useful is for coal inventories in a report database. On a monthly basis the inventory is meaningful, however if there is an upper level record above the months, representing quarter or year, then none of the other field types will accumulate data for the monthly inventories in a way that will represent the quarterly or yearly inventory. In this example, the No Aggregate field type could be used.
