Note field types are used for the storage of qualitative information relating to individual database records. Data stored in note fields is a string of text up to 50 characters in length.

A note field type could be used to store such things as details about geological faults which may be encountered when mining a block or material descriptions based on materials encountered in surrounding mining blocks.

If you want to store a string which consists only of numbers in a note field, then you should prefix the string with a single quotation (') to indicate that the data is a string and not a number.
