You can assign each data field in the main database to of the activities that you define for your project. The significance of the activity number is that whenever that activity is scheduled, each data field assigned to that activity will be reported as scheduled. The data field values that are reported as scheduled will vary depending on the data field type, as follows.
Consider a record in which X% of Activity n is scheduled. For a data field that is assigned to Activity n:
• | If it is additive, then X% of the data field value will report as scheduled. |
• | If it is weight average, then the full data field value will report as scheduled, however it will be weighted against X% of the weighting field value (ie. the weighting field will be additive). |
• | If it is average, then the full data field value will report as scheduled and it will be arithmetically averaged with other record values. |
To assign the activities to your data fields you must open the main database and go into the data field design, e.g. using the button. The sixth column contains the activity number that is currently assigned to the data field. Initially the activity will be set to "1", except for title fields which will be set to "0". Enter the appropriate activity number against each data field either by typing in directly or by selecting from the drop down list.
|
• | Each data field can only be assigned to activity. If a data field does not belong to any particular activity then it can be assigned an activity of "0". |
• | The activity number should be the same for weighted average fields and the additive field that they are weighted against. |
