Changing the scenario start point

XPAC will determine the scenario start point for most changes that you could make to your databases or schedule setup, however you are also able to set the scenario start point manually.

The main reason for setting the scenario start point manually is to make sure the schedule includes all the changes. In particular, XPAC does not detect changes made to data in your main or calendar databases.

You must be in the Schedule Setup tab to change the scenario start point. To get there, select Scheduling > Setup from the application menu, or click Setup Scheduling Scenarios on the toolbar. Once you have the Schedule Setup tab open, select Scheduling > Scenario Start Point from the application menu to display the following dialog.

The drop down list on this window displays the current scenario start point. The options on this list progress from the first scheduling calculations that are carried out (initial status) down to the last calculations (scheduling the input paths). Open the drop down list and select one of the following options:

Initial Status - This is the earliest start point for the schedule. Everything in the schedule will be recalculated including the initial status for all the records.
Mined Out Quantities - The initial status is valid, but the mined out quantities and everything that follows will be recalculated.
Preschedule - All calculations up to and including the dependency rules are valid. The preschedule and the resource input paths will be recalculated.
Dependency Rules - All calculations up to and including the mined out quantities are valid. The dependency rules are updated and the preschedule and the resource input paths will be recalculated.
Scenario Start Period - All calculations up to and including the preschedule are considered to be valid. All resource input paths will be recalculated.
Mid Schedule - All calculations up to and including the preschedule are considered to be valid. The resource input paths are recalculated from the earliest time period which is affected by a change.
