Resources are used in XPAC to control the transfer of material from a source to a destination. The source of the material may be a mining block or a stockpile. The destination of the material may be a product, a stockpile or a dump. An XPAC resource may represent a material production target, an item of equipment, a fleet of equipment or some combination of these. The key properties affecting the behaviour of resources are as follows.

Source

The selection of the source material for the resource is controlled by the mining sequence. It may be set to one of the following.

Input Path - you specify the order in which the source material is to be scheduled.
AutoScheduler - you provide the schedule objectives, constraints and rules about the extraction of the source material and XPAC determines a mining sequence that meets these requirements.

Resource Capacity

The rate at which the material is transferred from the source to the destination is controlled by the capacity of the resource. It may be set to either of the following:

Production Rate - the capacity of the resource is defined by a production rate and the hours that are available for production. Resource hours are built up from their components: shift roster, roster exceptions, period delays, availability and utilisation.
Target - the capacity of the resource is defined by a quantitative target for each schedule period.

Destination

The destination of the material that the resource schedules may be controlled by one of the following:

Destination - for all material scheduled, you specify the exact destination.
Dump Path - you specify the order in which the material is to be dumped.
Advanced Destination Selection - you provide the objectives, constraints and rules about the material destinations and XPAC determines where the material will be dumped.

The resource destination is an optional feature, so if it is not relevant to your operation, it can be set to Product and it will be ignored.
