The first tab of the Gantt Chart Wizard or the Gantt chart template contains options which define the time frame for the Gantt chart.
Title
XPAC displays the across the top of the Gantt chart.
Calendar Type
The determines where, in time, XPAC will place vertical lines on the Gantt chart. For each of these vertical lines, XPAC displays the date and the numbers specified in the column summary. You can set the to , , , or . You can also set it to match your Calendar database.
Start of Gantt Chart
You can specify the start of the Gantt chart in one of three ways:
• | : When you run the schedule, you must specify the start period. If this option is selected, the Gantt chart will commence at the first date of the schedule start period. |
• | : The Gantt chart can be started from a particular date, regardless of whether it coincides with a period boundary or not. Enter the day as a number, with or without the leading zero for dates less than 10. Enter the month as a two-digit number, as the first three characters of the name, or as the name in full. Enter the year as a two-digit or four-digit number. If you enter the year as a two-digit number, those numbers greater than or equal to 30 will be taken as the 1930 to 1999 and those numbers less than 30 will be taken as 2000 to 2029. To enter any year after 2029, you must type it in full. |
• | : The Gantt chart can begin on one of the Calendar time periods. Select the time period from the drop down list. The earliest time period will be the schedule start period. |
End of Gantt Chart
The end of the Gantt chart can be specified in one of four ways:
• | : When you run the schedule, you must specify the finish period. If you select the End of Schedule option XPAC will finish the Gantt Chart at the last date of the finish period for the schedule. |
• | : The Gantt chart can finish at a particular date, regardless of whether it coincides with a period boundary or not. Enter the day as a number, with or without the leading zero for dates less than 10. Enter the month as a two-digit number, as the first three characters of the name, or as the name in full. Enter the year as a two-digit or four-digit number. If you enter the year as a two-digit number, those numbers greater than or equal to 30 will be taken as the 1930 to 1999 and those numbers less than 30 will be taken as 2000 to 2029. To enter any year after 2029, you must type it in full. |
• | : The finish point for the Gantt chart can be specified using the duration after the start of the Gantt chart. The Duration is entered in weeks, days or hours. If a number is entered by itself it is assumed to be in weeks. To enter the number in days or hours, type the units after the number. |
• | : The Gantt chart can finish on one of the Calendar time periods. Select the time period from the drop down list. The latest time period will be the schedule end period. |
Scenario
The Gantt chart can be based on the active scenario or some other scenario that you specify when the Gantt chart template is run. Choose the required option using the radio buttons.
