In addition to the plot, the major chart elements are titles, legends, and footnotes. The following information explains how to add these elements to a chart.

To add a title to a chart (or edit an existing title):

1.Open the Chart Designer dialog box.
2.Select Title from the menu.
3.Click the Location tab.
4.Make sure you have selected the Visible check box.
5.Select a Location for the title by selecting one of radio buttons.
6.Click the Text tab.
7.Type the title text in the Text field.
8.Make use of the options available on the other Title tabs available as required.
9.Click OK or Apply to redraw the chart to include the new title.

To add a legend to a chart (or edit an existing legend):

1.Open the Chart Designer dialog box.
2.Select Legend from the menu.
3.Click the Location tab.
4.Make sure you have selected the Visible check box.
5.Select a Location for the legend by selecting one of radio buttons.
6.Check the Visible check box to display the legend.
7.Make use of the options available on the other Legend tabs available as required.
8.Click OK or Apply to redraw the chart to include the legend.

To add a footnote to a chart (or edit an existing footnote):

1.Open the Chart Designer dialog box.
2.Select Footnote from the menu.
3.Click the Location tab.
4.Make sure you have selected the Visible check box.
5.Select a Location for the footnote by selecting one of radio buttons.
6.Click the Text tab.
7.Type the footnote text in the Text field.
8.Make use of the options available on the other Footnote tabs available as required.
9.Click OK or Apply to redraw the chart to include the new title.
