For most large reserves databases, you will rely on XPAC building the database structure as the data is imported (see Importing and exporting database data for more information).
The following points should be noted in relation to building database structure using import:
• | When data is imported, XPAC will scan the database to determine whether the record being imported already exists. If the record exists, then the structure will not change. If the record does not exist, then XPAC will build the required structure. |
• | Some records may exist prior to the import of data, but not be present in the data being imported. These records will not be deleted during the import process. |
• | If you want the imported data to be the only data present in the database, then it is best to delete all database structure prior to importing any data. |
