It is possible to manually enter data into a database. For a large reserves (main) database this will normally be impractical, however for a simple calendar database, this may be the quickest method for data entry.
If the data field protection is set to either None or Script, you will be able to manually enter data in that data field, for any record.
If the data field protection is set to either Edit or Both, you will not be able to manually enter data in that data field, for any record.
Data is manually entered in the data sheet pane of the database window. Position your cursor on the relevant data field and database record, type the data and then press Enter. Any existing data will be overwritten.
Data for classified fields may be manually typed in or selected from the list of existing classifications. To view the list of existing classifications, right-click and select Classification from the context menu. It is also possible to create a new classification from this window.
Data must be entered into a Date field in a certain format so that it can be converted into a valid date. See Date fields for a description of valid date formats.
To manually enter data in a Note data field, simply type in the text and press Enter.
