If your chart depicts changes in data over a period of time, a hi-lo chart is the best choice for plotting your data. When you select hi-lo as the chart type, you can specify the variation of hi-lo chart you want to display as well as assign different types to other series.
Unlike many other chart types, you cannot create a hi-lo chart directly from the Chart Wizard. Instead, you should create another type of chart with the information you want to include and then make the changes to the way you display that data in the Chart Designer dialog box.
To create a hi-lo chart, you need to access both the following Chart Designer locations, in order:
1. | Change the chart type to Bar by selecting Chart from the menu, then clicking the Type tab, and finally selecting Bar from the list of chart types. This will work with a 2D or 3D bar chart. You can also set hi-low displays for horizontal bar and clustered bar charts. |
2. | Select the Series option from the Chart Designer menu and click the Series Type tab. Use the menus on the right to change the way you display each series, or all series. |
