Using the Field Setup Wizard

Use the Field Setup Wizard to help you set up fields when importing or exporting XPAC data. You can access the wizard by clicking Setup Wizard in the import or export window, for example:

To set up data fields using the Field Setup Wizard:

1.	On the welcome page of the Field Setup Wizard window, click Next. The second page of the wizard displays.

2.	For each field in the data file:

a.	Define the field properties of each field.

b.	Click Next. The last page of the wizard displays.

3.	Click Finish. The import/export window redisplays.

Lets you define the range of cells that XPAC reads for the selected field.

XPAC scans the file and assumes where the field boundaries are. These boundaries are presented as the default Start Position and Field Width for each field.

Lets you specify exactly where XPAC stores the data. For example, at the Strip level.

The options that display in this section depend on the Field Type that you selected.

Multiplier

Multiplies the number in the field by a factor of 1.0.

% (0.01)

Converts the number in the field from a percentage to a fraction.

Other

Multiplies the number in the field by a factor, then lets you specify the value in the field that displays.

Constant

N/A

Adds a constant to the number in the field.
