The Example column in data field design is used to display and to change the format of data field values, ie. the number of decimals, display of currency signs, etc. All of the options that are available from data field formatting are also available from data field design.

To change the way that values are displayed for a data field, click in the Example column for that data field. See Numbers for details of the format options which are available for the data field values. You can also set up a customised format for the data field values.
