Database Ranges are used to specify which records in a database are to be processed by an operation. Separate database ranges are available in the main, calendar and results databases. Operations which make use of database ranges include:

viewing data in the database or schedule
printing data from the database or schedule
graphing data from the database or schedule
exporting data from the database or schedule
running XCMs over the database.

Within a database range, any records can be included/excluded without modifying the database record structure. The database structure is the master copy of all the records and database ranges are a window into certain areas of this 'master' structure. You can set up as many different database ranges as you like in each database (main, calendar and results).
