The Format toolbar lets you determine the formatting of cells in a data sheet (similar to MS Excel functionality):

The buttons available on the Format toolbar are also available from the Format menu. The Format menu also provides a number of additional formatting options.

The table below describes the tools available from the Format toolbar:

Format Toolbar - Font drop-down list

Font drop-down list

Lets you select a font to apply to selected cell/s.

Format Toolbar - Size drop-down list

Font size drop-down list

Lets you select a font size to apply to selected cell/s.

Formatting Toolbar - Bold

Bold

Makes text in selected cell/s bold.

Formatting Toolbar - Italics

Italics

Italicise text in selected cell/s.

Formatting Toolbar - Underline

Underline

Underline text in selected cell/s.

Formatting Toolbar - General Style

General Style

Apply a general number style to selected cell/s. Cells have no specific number formatting applied.

Formatting Toolbar - Currency Style

Currency Style (2)

Display the value of selected cell/s as a monetary value, for example, $1,234.56.

Note: By default, XPAC assumes a dollar currency ($). To change the currency symbol, see Number.

Formatting Toolbar - Percent Style

Percent Style

Display the value of selected cell/s as a percentage, for example, 97% (multiples the value by 100).

Note: 0.5 displays as 50%, 5 displays as 500%, etc. By default, XPAC assumes a percentage with no decimal spaces. To change the number of decimals that display, see Number.

Formatting Toolbar - Date Style

Date Style

Display the value of selected cell/s as a date, for example, 15/4/2012.

Note: By default, XPAC assumes a date with a DD/MM/YYYY format. To change the date format, see Number.

Formatting Toolbar - Comma Style

Comma Style

Display the value of selected cell/s using a thousands separator, for example, 1,234.

Formatting Toolbar - Fixed Style

Fixed Style (2)

Display the value of selected cell/s to be fixed to two decimal places, for example, 1,234.56.

Formatting Toolbar - Increase Decimals

Increase Decimals

Display more precise values of selected cell/s by using more decimal places.

Formatting Toolbar - Decrease Decimals

Decrease Decimals

Display less precise values of selected cell/s by using fewer decimal places.

Font

Apply font settings to selected cell/s. See Font for more information.

Formatting Toolbar - Repeat Font

Repeat Font

Apply the most recently used font colour to selected cell/s.

Pattern

Apply a fill colour and/or pattern to selected cell/s.

Apply the most recently used fill colour (and/or pattern) to selected cell/s.
