The Format menu provides the same functions available from the Format toolbar (for example, fonts, style, and so on) in addition to extra menu options. The table below describes the extra options available from the Format menu:

Menu option

Description

Cells

Lets you select a format style for selected cell/s, for example, Currency, Fraction, Date, etc. See Number for more information.

Alignment

Lets you specify the alignment to apply to selected cell/s, for example, you may want to left justify and/or wrap text. See Alignment for more information.

Border

Lets you specify borders to apply to selected cell/s. See Border for more information.

Currency Style (0)

Display the value of selected cell/s as a currency, for example, $1,234.56.

Note

By default, XPAC assumes a dollar currency ($). To change the currency symbol, see Number.

Time Style

Display the value of selected cell/s as a time, for example, 11:02 AM.

Fixed Style (0)

Display the value of selected cell/s with no decimal places, for example, 1,234.

Fraction Style

Display the value of selected cell/s as a whole number followed by a fraction, for example, 1.25 displays as 1 1/4.

Scientific Style

Displays the value of selected cell/s using scientific notations (and rounded to two decimal places), for example, 424,500 displays as 4.25E+05.

Note

XPAC replaces part of the number with E+n (where E multiplies the preceding number by 10 to the nth power). For example, a 2-decimal scientific format displays 12345678901 as 1.23E+10, which is 1.23 times 10 to the 10th power.

Custom Number Style

Apply a specific field format to selected cell/s, for example, you may want to specify a date format of dd/mm/yyyy.

Column Width

Specify the width of the column that your cursor is currently in.

Row Height

Specify the height of the row that your cursor is currently in.

Colour Palette

Displays the Colour Palette window, letting you specify a colour to apply to selected cell/s.

AutoFormat

Apply a predefined data sheet template design, for example, Caleela Blues. See AutoFormat for more information.

Renumber Rows

Lets you renumber the rows that display in the data sheet if the numbering becomes disrupted.
