Hi-lo charts are most commonly used to show starting and finishing information. For example, you might use a hi-lo chart to track the grade of the ore you are using as a feed. In each time period (or for each resource, or for each activity), the ore grade will have a maximum and minimum value.
You can also create a hi-lo-close chart, which tracks whether a new data point was a gain or a loss from the previous data point. For example, you might use a hi-lo-close chart to track increases and decreases in tonnages across your selected time periods. The first data point never has a gain or loss colour, but sets the basis for deciding if the next data point displays a gain or loss.
You can control the colours used to display the elements of a hi-lo chart by setting the appropriate options on the Options tab (see Setting series options). On this tab, you can select both the Gain Color and Loss Color to be represented on your chart.
