On the Production Details window, the Release Profile parameters are available when the resource type is set to either:

AutoScheduler and Production Rate; or
AutoScheduler and Target

Release profile - 1

An Activity Precedence dictates that Activity A releases Activity B. A Release Profile allows you to further define the way in which Activity A releases Activity B. This is done by specifying the percentage of Activity B that is released as each percentage of Activity A is mined.

Note that AutoScheduler Production Rate and AutoScheduler Target resources will not schedule a record until it is released.

Activity A Releases Activity B

In the Release Profile table all of the Activity Precedences that affect the current resource will be listed. In the first Activity column, only those activities that the resource can schedule will be listed. The second Activity column contains each activity that is released by the activities that the resource can schedule.

In the following example, the resource can schedule the Drilling activity. Since the Drilling activity releases both Waste Mining and Ore Mining, there are two Activity Precedences listed in the table.

Release profile - 2

This part of the table cannot be edited directly. However the activities listed can be changed by modifying the precedences or the activities that this resource can schedule.

Curve

As explained above, the Release Profiles specify the percentage of Activity B that is released as each percentage of Activity A is mined. This information is stored in a Curve. A number of predefined curves are available for you to use (select one from the drop down list) or alternatively you can create your own curve. Some curve examples are provided in the following sections.

Proportional

As each percentage of Activity A is scheduled, that same percentage of Activity B is released.

Release profile - Proportional

20% Lag Proportional

As the first 20% of Activity A is scheduled, none of Activity B is released. As each subsequent percentage of Activity A is Scheduled, that same percentage of Activity B is released. As soon as all of Activity A has been scheduled, the remaining 20% of Activity B is released instantaneously.

Release profile - 20 Lag Proportional

20% Lag Non-Proportional

As the first 20% of Activity A is scheduled, none of Activity B is released. As the remaining 80% of Activity A is Scheduled, the whole 100% of Activity B is released proportionally.

Release profile - 20 Lag Non Proportional

100% Lag

As Activity A is scheduled, none of Activity B is released. As soon as all of Activity A has been scheduled, the entire 100% of Activity B is released instantaneously.

Release profile - 100 Lag

Creating Your Own Release Profile Curve

To create your own Release Profile curve, click in the Curve column for the required Activity Precedence. The cell will appear as follows.

Release profile - Create own - 1

Click Browse in this cell to display the Edit Release Profiles window. Click New and then type a name for the new Release Profile curve. Press Enter to display the following window:

Release profile - Create own - 2

To enter the curve data, check the Allow Modification check box (bottom left of the window). Type the Mined and Released percentages into the table (left pane of the window). To add rows press Insert. As the data is entered, XPAC will draw the Release Profile on the right.

Note

The first point on a Release Profile curve should be 0% Mined and 0% Released.
The last point on a Release Profile curve should be 100% Mined and 100% Released.
