Using an XPAC project

Previous topic Next topic

After creating an XPAC project, you can work with the data in your project by opening, saving and closing the project. If required, you can also open a script file, for example, if you want to work on an XCM or any other script.

To open an XPAC project:

1.Either:
a.Select File > Open; or
b.Click Open on the Standard toolbar.
2.Navigate to folder containing the XPAC project file (XPK).
3.Select the XPAC file and click Open.

XPAC opens the project.

To open a script file:

1.Either:
a.Select File > Open; or
b.Click Open on the Standard toolbar.
2.Navigate to folder containing the Visual Basic script file (BAS).
3.Select the file and click Open.

XPAC opens the script file.

Saving an XPAC project

XPAC has been specifically designed to recognise and immediately save any changes to project data. As such, there is no need to manually save your project. This is particularly useful at mine sites where power failures can often result in a loss of data.

Exceptions - XPAC 'templates'

If you edit any templates that XPAC uses (for example, the data field design, database ranges, data field displays, rosters, roster exceptions, preschedule tables, and so on), you will need to click OK or Save before proceeding, otherwise your changes will not be saved.

Closing an XPAC project

You can exit an XPAC project by:

selecting File > Close. The project closes; the XPAC window remains open.
selecting File > Exit. The XPAC window closes, also closing the project.
clicking Close in the top right corner of the XPAC window. The XPAC window closes, also closing the project.
close all open tabs in the project (for example, Main, Schedule Setup, Spatial Data Plot, etc.). The project closes; the XPAC window remains open.

Information

Closing your XPAC project also saves any changes before exiting.
