When you first run a schedule and the Schedule Checker, you may find that you get many record conflicts reported in the Schedule Checker Report. To resolve all of these conflicts using the information in the report would be time consuming and difficult.

Use Gantt Charts and/or Spatial Data Plots to resolve the major conflicts in your schedule. Use Schedule Checker to identify the remaining minor record conflicts.

Gantt charts

If a Gantt chart is produced with the records flowing down the page in a logical order, then it is easy to see where there may be conflicts in your schedule. For example, if you have a multi seam deposit or a deposit made up of benches, then set the Gantt Chart up so that all of the seams or benches within a block are grouped together. Also ensure that all of the seams or benches in a block are listed down the page in stratigraphic order for seams or in descending RL's for benches. When set up this way, the bars of the Gantt chart should cascade across the chart when there are no conflicts in your schedule.

Spatial data plots

You can use Spatial Data Plots in a number of different ways to check your schedule for conflicts.

Period Progress plots can be drawn to illustrate the records that have been scheduled in each time period.
A Mine Status plot can be generated to show face positions at the end of any selected time period.
The mining sequence may also be animated to show how the different resources interact with one another.
