The table below describes the options available from the File menu:

Menu option

Description

New

Lets you create a new XPAC project. Select either:

Open

Lets you locate and open an existing XPAC project.

Close

Closes the current XPAC project.

Import

Lets you import a variety of data, for example, data fields, spatial data, feature layers, etc.

Export

Lets you export a variety of data from the current XPAC project, for example, data fields, dependencies, project items, etc.

Save

Lets you save any changes that you make to the formatting of the data sheet (for example, the field type) or a spatial data plot.

Save As

Lets you save XPAC scripts (XCMs) as an external BAS file.

Save Active Sheet As

Note

This option is only available when viewing a data sheet (for example, the main database).

Lets you save the current data sheet as a file, for example, XLS, TXT, HTM, etc.

Print

Prints the data in the main workspace, for example, a data sheet or spatial data plot.

Print Records

Lets you print data fields for multiple, non-consecutive, selected records in a data sheet. Select the column containing the records that you want to print, then select File > Print Records. If required, you can use the standard Shift/Ctrl functionality to select multiple records.

Note: You cannot print records if using a transposed data field display.

Print Preview

Displays a print preview of the data before sending the document to the printer.

Print Setup

Lets you specify the print settings for the printed document.

Project Properties

Displays the properties for the current project, for example, database levels and icons, statistics, etc.

Backup

Lets you backup the current XPAC project and any other project files as required.

Open in Windows Explorer

Depending on the activity that you are currently undertaking in the product, when you select this option, XPAC either opens the folder containing:

the XPAC project that you are using; or
the script that you are running (must be a saved script).

Recent projects

Displays a list of recently opened XPAC projects. Select a project to open it.

Licensing

Lets you access the client licence settings. Select either:

Launch Client License Manager to display the RPM Client License Manager; or
Release Roaming and Exit to release the roaming licence currently being used (if applicable) and exit the application.

Exit

Closes XPAC.
