A scenario is a schedule option with its own constraints and inputs. Each project is able to have any number of scenarios attached to it. All scenarios within a project make use of the main database. For each scenario, you must define the following information:
Most of the items that are assigned to a scenario can be shared between multiple scenarios. For example, the same calendar may be accessed by two different scenarios or the same preschedule table may be used by a number of scenarios. If the information is updated for one scenario, then the updates are immediately accessed by the other scenarios.
You can create multiple scenarios in an XPAC project, only one can be active at any given time. XPAC uses the active scenario to calculate any schedule-related data, for example, running the schedule, viewing the schedule path, and so on. In the Schedule Setup screen, XPAC displays the active scenario in bold text, for example:
To set (or change) the active scenario:
1. | Click the Scenarios tab. |
2. | Locate the scenario folder that you want to set as the active scenario in the folder structure. |
3. | Either: |
a. | Select the folder and select Scheduling > Set Active Scenario; or |
b. | Right-click the folder and select Set Active Scenario. |
XPAC displays the active scenario in bold text.
