Once the database properties have been established, the next step is to build a list of data fields in preparation for inputting and manipulating data. Each database can only have ONE set of data fields. This includes the Main database, so the deposit, stockpiles and dumps must all have the same list of data fields.
Initially your database will display 30 data fields (unless you specified a "Very Small" database, in which case you will only have 10 data fields). You are able to insert data fields and delete data fields from the list. You are also able to move and copy data fields in the list. Building and editing of data fields is performed from the data field design mode.
Each data field has the following properties:
• | Data field codes (also called the row code) |
• | Data field level (associated with the data field code) |
• | Data field notes (hidden when you first access data field design) |
There are also import and export facilities available to allow you to transfer the data field design from one database to another.
You are also able to define the format for each of your data fields. This includes fonts, text colour, background colour, cell height, cell width, etc.
